A custom WordPress theme and four in-house plugins for a bistro in Toulon.
Le Bistrot de Gisèle is a restaurant on rue du Docteur Jean Bertholet in Toulon. Its site runs on WordPress, with a theme designed for it and tools built so the team can manage everything themselves.
The site
The theme only displays what it is given. The menu, bookings and shop are separate data that survive a redesign.
- The menu: a plugin to manage dishes, categories and prices, with blocks for the WordPress editor.
- Bookings: a request form with time slots. Requests arrive pending, and the restaurant confirms or declines them, with automatic emails.
- The shop: takeaway items, producers and specialties.
- Email sending: a configurable SMTP plugin.
The four plugins are generic: no contact details or opening hours specific to the bistro are written in their code, so they can serve other restaurants.
